Carnarvon Cup Portraits

Just back from Carnarvon where I was visiting my old mate, Tim Booth and wifey, Emma.  I did a few series of work, while I was out there, some on the plantations, a story on the Carnarvon Cup and a series inside the Aboriginal township known as Mungallah Village.  Among the most interesting people I met were Margaret and George Dimitrovski who found a gold nugget in 1995 that weighed in at 214 ounces, making it the sixth largest ever found.  More on them, including parts of an interview will be available on my website, soon.

The people I met were incredibly friendly, very down to earth and wonderfully informative.  Here’s a bunch of portraits that I made during the Carnarvon Cup, the biggest race day of the season.

Just wondering is there any more photos of the Canarvon Cup meeting. The guy that was taking the shots had taken a lot more than whats on this site.interested in seeing the lot of the racing people(trainers & horses) if it’s possible.

    Cheers & thanks,
